These have been great, I like how small the plate are so no so bulky when getting up to the heavier weights. High quality weights, this is my second set of adjustable weights and I have really enjoyed these ones for the few weeks that I have had them.
Great mechanism/ seemless. Not clunky with a solid feel.
Great purchase for a superior quality adjustable dumbbell
This stand is a nice addition to my Nuobell S 5100 set. Yes this stand cost about $125 more than the original stand with the adapter pieces. However this design is much more aesthetically pleasing and functionable. It arrived within a week and was well packed.
I purchased a set of Nuobell S 5100 black. I am quite pleased with this decision. I choose these after much comparison and research. This set had all the things I was looking for in an adjustable dumbbell. The shape and weight distribution more closely resembles that of a traditional gym dumbbell. The weight feels and moves naturally when held unlike a skeleton frame or a box you put your hand inside. The way the weight is adjusted is a plus. It only needs a simple twist of the handle to increase or decrease weight, which I preferred over any knob or pull/push pin design. In addition the changes happen in traditional five pound increments not odd weights or half pounds. Once I decided on the Nuobell brand I began exploring their products. I chose the S 5100. This is an upgrade of the original with its internal parts being more metal than plastic. The maximum weight has increased making it one of the heaviest dumbbells out there. I chose the hundred pounds over the sixty pound. It will be quite some time if I ever reach the highest weights. However I am confident some of my exercises will pass the sixty pound mark. It made sense to buy the S 5100 now, rather than purchasing the weight upgrade later that would total more than just buying these. I purchased these directly from their website and was given a four year warranty. Nuobell also has replaceable parts on their website. They were delivered within one week and were all well packed inside. There were four boxes total. I have used these several times now. I do not hit them together or drop them. That would not be a good idea for these or any other adjustable dumbbell. I have the pylon stand for these as well. They look nice and save space. These are expensive, but worth every cent. Buying all the weights they offer would cost three times as much and would require much space. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this set and plan to use it for many years.
When my stand arrived, the cross bar in the middle of the stand was built wrong. The screws provided with it would not work. I had to go and buy my own bolts just to make it work.
Amazing dumbbells. We had an older set from another brand and these blow those away. The mechanism to change the weight is so convenient, and the build quality is great. We also bought the stand and it’s very nice too. If you’re on the fence, these are an amazing set of dumbbells and I would absolutely recommend them.
Ordering and logistic communication is very professional. The product is of outstanding quality. In short: I’m a happy customer.
They aren’t bad, but chip very easily. Haven’t been rough at all but some of the plates have been chipped.
Good dumbbells would have gave it 5 stars if it had better knurled grip for the handle gets slippery when hands are sweaty
I avoided adjustable dumbbells for years, assuming the mechanism would feel like a compromise. It doesn’t. Changing the weight takes a couple of seconds, and that one detail has reshaped my training: drop sets, supersets and warm-up ramps no longer stall.
The bigger surprise is what it does to my head. Because going up is effortless, I actually go up. And because going back down costs nothing and doesn’t feel like defeat, I reduce the load when a set is genuinely too heavy instead of grinding out sloppy reps.
Two honest caveats: the price is steep — this is a real investment, not an impulse buy. And you can only change the weight while the dumbbell sits in its base, so the stand has to stay within reach.
Neither stopped me recommending them. If you’re on the fence like I was: don’t be. Five stars.
Hubby had open heart surgery 2 months ago. Dr suggested an at home dumbbell set to rebuild slowly. This set/stand was perfect. Very sleek and not ugly in my house! The Dr was jealous when we showed him photos of our set up
Like the dumbbells but dont understand why the 60lb and 100lb gets the update of being built stronger with s series and skip the 80lb.Why not do them too.
These arrived impeccably shipped, but right away I noticed a few dings/scratches on the green finish. It doesn’t affect the functionality, but was a bit disappointing considering the price. However, after a handful of workouts, I’ve found that it has been very easy to switch weights during quick transitions and they feel solid, even during overhead moves. Overall, I’m very happy so far with this investment.
These dumbbells are the best. I love them and so glad I bought them. I can go from 5lb’s too 100lb’s fast and easy. From heavy RDL’s too light lateral shoulder raise complex. When training peripheral heart action in my workouts. Go big or go home!
