A bit pricey but no regrets, you get what you pay for. These dumbells are awesome, very well designed and built. Easy and comfortable to use, the convienience of the adjustable weight saves time and frustration and the bar diameter is very comfortable in my hands. Don't forget the stand it is also worth evey penny. If you want to make your workouts faster, easier and more effective buy these you will be glad you did. Shipping was fast and everything was well packaged and easy to assemble.

Space saving, time saving, and less clanking when changing weight. If you ever are in a spot in your life where you have to give up the barbell.. this should hold you off. I could are less about the price, worth every penny.. dont put a price on health and convenience if you can afford it

I transitioned from an entire rack of dumbbells to the NÜOBELL 580s for two reasons. The first, and least important, was space savings. To be totally honest, that was an afterthought as I had used the rack of weights for 20+ years. It wasn't until after replacing them with the single set of dumbbells that I realized how nice it is.

The real reason for purchasing the NÜOBELL 580s was to address the gaps in my existing set. Folks that have priced them know how expensive it is to get an entire suite of dumbbells in five pound increments. For that reason, my existing set had large gaps of between 10 and 20 pounds. Problem solved. (for reference, my current set has 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 35, 45, 55, 65, 85, 100)

There are other options on the market, of course. But those had too many shortcomings in my book. Things like goofy plate selection or limited total weight. Also, for certain exercises I rest the dumbbells on my thighs before lifting them into position (i.e. incline DB press). Other vendors' offerings weren't conducive to that.

The build quality has proven to be outstanding. When new, there was some stickiness when switching weight selections. However, turning the handle the opposite direction just slightly freed it up and selection was easy. Note that this issue seemed to be only during a brief break-in period.

My final thought -- more for NÜOBELL than for folks reading this (long) review -- is this: it would be nice if there was an option for 100lb dumbbells. The fact this option is not currently offered does not detract from the five star review as I got exactly what I expected with the 580s. However, perhaps a future expansion pack similar to the one that exists for the 550 to 580 conversion?

Even though I gave it three stars I highly recommend getting one. With that being said.... The stand bolts together. No matter how tight the bolts are the stand moves slightly side to side. Over time this will get worse. I will at some point have to weld it so its more solid.

These dumbbells feel like the ones I used to use at the gym I went to. I now workout at home and have been using an incomplete set of hexagon type dumbbells. After looking at how much it would cost to buy the dumbbells I was missing I started looking for adjustable dumbbells. I came across several different adjustable dumbbell sets on Amazon before I found the NUO dumbbells. The price was a little shocking compared to the others, but I liked the way the functionality was described. I ordered the 80 pound set off of the NUO website (They offered a discount) and the rack. Once I received them and set them up I LOVED THEM. I would have paid more. That's how much I like them. They seem to be well made. Being able to adjust with a twist of the handle is genius. The fact it only takes the weight selected keeping the length minimal is also genius. The only thing that takes a little getting used to is not touching/hitting them together at the top of a dumbbell bench press. About the rack..... It's expensive for what it is and how its made, but none the less I highly recommend getting it. I normally would give a 4 star review because of the rack, but the dumbbells themselves deserve 5 stars. My only regret is that I didn't get a larger set.

Great set of dumbbells! Nicely balanced and seems to be great quality. Online ordering was pretty easy and shipping time was reasonable. However, prior to ordering I had some questions about the dumbbells and my multiple emails went unanswered so I’m concerned about getting in touch with customer service should I have a problem.
